WITH HYROX SEASON IN FULL SWING, WE SAT DOWN WITH OUR VERY OWN HYROX CHAMP, OMAR MANSOUR, TO GET U SOME TOP TIPS FOR RACE DAY.

๐Ÿš€Before the event, practice compromised running. This is running an interval then going straight into a functional exercise such as dumbbell thrusters to practice running under fatigue. Check out the conditioning classes at KXU, especially HIIT & RUN, to practice this.

๐Ÿš€On the day, go off steady! There will be a lot of adrenaline and the atmosphere will be electric. Often people go out way too hard and then can end up fatiguing quickly. Remember this is an endurance race so pace yourself.

๐Ÿš€Donโ€™t spend too long at the venue before your race. There is a lot going on and it can drain you.

๐Ÿš€Prepare for the sleds to feel heavier. Often the carpet resistance can make the weight feel very heavy. Perhaps more so than what youโ€™ve practise with so mentally be ready to attack the sleds.

๐Ÿš€Stay moving through the Roxzones. Roxzones are large areas that you need to cover when moving between the runs and the functional stations. Think of these as your transitions and try to stay moving through them.

๐Ÿš€Get some shoes with good grip but something that also is comfortable to run in.

๐Ÿš€Keep track of your laps and make sure you know the order. Each race course is laid out differently so make sure you know exactly how many laps to run and what stations to go into when.

๐Ÿš€Run your own race and enjoy it. Soak up the atmosphere and give it your best effort. Part of the appeal ofย  HYROX is the amazing atmosphere and positive environment .

Good luck KXU crew, U got this! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ
